CUB SalarySe Level Up Credit Card
Built around the SalarySe app and issued by City Union Bank, the Level Up card targets salaried customers who are comfortable managing rewards through a mobile interface rather than a traditional statement. Everything it pays out arrives as SalarySe SCoins, and the conversion City Union Bank sets is the number that actually matters: 5 SCoins equal ₹1. Because the marketing figures are quoted in SCoins per ₹100 spent, they read roughly five times larger than the real cash value. Spending that bypasses SalarySe UPI — along with rent, railway bookings, insurance, education, telecom and government payments — earns just 1 SCoin per ₹100, or 0.2% in real terms. Channel that spending through SalarySe UPI instead, or pay online with the card, and the rate climbs to 5 SCoins per ₹100 (1%), stepping up further to 10 per ₹100 (2%) once monthly spend passes ₹20,000. The card's main draw is a salary-day bonus available on the 1st and last day of each month: 25 SCoins per ₹100 on the no-cost virtual card (roughly 5%) or 37.5 SCoins per ₹100 on the paid physical version (7.5%). That bonus only kicks in once ₹5,000 has already been spent elsewhere in the cycle, and it applies to no more than ₹15,000 of salary-day spending, effectively capping the payout around ₹750 monthly. SCoins can only be redeemed within the SalarySe app itself, and unused balances lapse after 18 months.
