RBL Bank Patanjali Swarn Credit Card
The RBL Patanjali Swarn is the step-up Patanjali co-brand on the RuPay network (linkable to UPI). It keeps the 10% cashback at Patanjali stores on ₹500+ transactions but lifts the monthly cap to ₹750 (about ₹7,500 of Patanjali spend), and layers on lifestyle perks its cheaper Vishisht sibling lacks: 4 domestic airport-lounge visits a year (1 a quarter, on ₹50,000 of prior-quarter Patanjali spend), a BookMyShow buy-one-get-one movie offer (up to ₹200, once a month on weekends), and a 1% fuel surcharge waiver (up to ₹200/month). Two annual milestones sit on top — a ₹1,500 Patanjali voucher and a 4-night wellness-centre stay — but RBL raised their bars sharply in May 2026, to ₹9 lakh and ₹12 lakh of eligible annual spend, each with a minimum Patanjali-spend condition inside it. At ₹1,499 with no fee waiver, it only makes sense for a heavy Patanjali household that will also use the lounge and movie perks; off-brand spend still earns just 1 point per ₹100.

The concern The ₹1,499 fee has no spend waiver, the 10% is capped at ₹750/month, and lounge access needs ₹50,000 of Patanjali spend a quarter — off-brand spends earn just 1 RP per ₹100.
The bottom line
The Patanjali Swarn recovers its ₹1,499 yearly cost only when you actively utilize its full suite of benefits — maximizing the ₹750 monthly brand cashback while taking advantage of the quarterly domestic lounge access and monthly movie ticket savings. Dedicated brand loyalists can make the economics work, but casual Patanjali shoppers will likely find better value in the ₹499 Vishisht variant, which provides the primary cashback benefit at a fraction of the price.

2026 2 changes — 2 cuts
▼ Milestone Observed May 2026 · Effective 10 May 2026
Milestone spend thresholds tripled, and the Patanjali minimums rose more than tenfold
Voucher at ₹3L total spend (₹12,000 minimum at Patanjali); wellness stay at ₹5L total (₹15,000 Patanjali minimum) → Voucher at ₹9L total spend (₹1.5L minimum at Patanjali); wellness stay at ₹12L total (₹2.5L Patanjali minimum)
Effective 10 May 2026 RBL raised the annual-spend thresholds on both of the Swarn's milestone rewards. The ₹1,500 Patanjali voucher now needs ₹9 lakh of eligible annual spend including a minimum ₹1.5 lakh at Patanjali stores or its website, up from ₹3 lakh including ₹12,000 at Patanjali. The 4 nights / 5 days stay at a Patanjali Wellness Centre now needs ₹12 lakh of eligible annual spend including a minimum ₹2.5 lakh at Patanjali, up from ₹5 lakh including ₹15,000. The Patanjali-specific minimum is the sharper of the two increases — it rose more than twelvefold on the voucher and more than sixteenfold on the wellness stay, so the benefits now turn on brand loyalty far more than on total card spend. RBL applies the revised criteria to cards issued on or after 10 May 2026; cards issued on or before 9 May 2026 keep the earlier thresholds until their next anniversary year. RBL also states that UPI transactions below ₹2,000 do not count toward annual milestone spend. The same revision was made to the sibling Patanjali Vishisht card on the same date.

▼ Fee Observed Jan 2026 · Effective 7 Jan 2026
New 1% fee on large FASTag top-ups and toll payments
No FASTag or toll transaction fee → 1% fee on any FASTag-loading or toll-payment transaction above ₹10,000
From 7 January 2026 RBL Bank charges a 1% fee on any single FASTag-loading or toll-payment transaction above ₹10,000, measured per transaction per card, across merchant category codes 4784, 4111 and 4131. Because the threshold is per transaction rather than a monthly aggregate, it bites on one-off large FASTag top-ups rather than on regular commuting; splitting a top-up below ₹10,000 avoids it. The fee sits alongside RBL's existing 1% charges on rent, on utility spends above ₹50,000 a month, on fuel transactions above ₹10,000, and on education payments routed through third-party apps. It is a fee on the transaction, not a change to reward earning — these categories already earn no reward points on most RBL cards.

◆ Launch Effective 23 Oct 2024
Patanjali Swarn launched as the premium Patanjali RuPay co-brand
RBL Bank and Patanjali launched the Swarn as the premium tier of their two-card RuPay co-brand (above the ₹499 Vishisht), announced around 23 October 2024. It carries a ₹1,499 + tax joining/annual fee with no spend waiver, earning 10% cashback at Patanjali stores on transactions of ₹500 or more, capped at ₹750 a month (~₹7,500 of Patanjali spend), and 1 reward point per ₹100 (~₹0.25 each) on other spends. Cardholders get a 6,000-point welcome benefit on a first spend of ₹1,000+, 4 domestic airport-lounge visits a year (1 per quarter, unlocked by ₹50,000 of Patanjali spend in the prior calendar quarter), a monthly weekend BookMyShow buy-one-get-one movie offer up to ₹200, and a 1% fuel-surcharge waiver up to ₹200/month. As a late-October-2024 launch it was issued just after RBL's 15 Oct 2024 portfolio devaluation, so those category earn-exclusions and the new 1% fuel/utility/education fees applied from day one rather than as later cuts.
