RBL Bank IndianOil Credit Card

Entry levelFee variesFuel

RBL IndianOil is RBL's fuel co-brand — the successor to the discontinued RBL BPCL SuperCard, now aligned to India's largest pump network. It earns 10 fuel points per ₹100 at IndianOil outlets (each point worth ₹0.50 toward fuel, so about 5% value back, capped at 1,000 points a month) and 1 point per ₹100 elsewhere. Add the 1% fuel-surcharge waiver (up to ₹100/month) and RBL markets it as roughly 6% value back and up to 100 litres of free petrol a year. A RuPay variant of this card links to UPI; this entry covers the Mastercard variant.

The concern Fuel points redeem essentially only for fuel at IndianOil, the monthly cap is 1,000 points and the non-fuel earn is a thin 0.5% — this is a one-category card by design.

The bottom line

The RBL Bank IndianOil Credit Card is an effective single-purpose fuel card for regular IOCL patrons, where roughly 5% value back on fuel along with the monthly surcharge waiver easily recovers the card's cost. Because its non-fuel baseline return of 0.5% is minimal, it should be maintained alongside a dedicated everyday card for general household expenses.

2026 1 change — 1 cut

▼ Fee Observed Jan 2026 · Effective 7 Jan 2026

New 1% fee on large FASTag top-ups and toll payments

No FASTag or toll transaction fee → 1% fee on any FASTag-loading or toll-payment transaction above ₹10,000

From 7 January 2026 RBL Bank charges a 1% fee on any single FASTag-loading or toll-payment transaction above ₹10,000, measured per transaction per card, across merchant category codes 4784, 4111 and 4131. Because the threshold is per transaction rather than a monthly aggregate, it bites on one-off large FASTag top-ups rather than on regular commuting; splitting a top-up below ₹10,000 avoids it. The fee sits alongside RBL's existing 1% charges on rent, on utility spends above ₹50,000 a month, on fuel transactions above ₹10,000, and on education payments routed through third-party apps. It is a fee on the transaction, not a change to reward earning — these categories already earn no reward points on most RBL cards.

▼ Fee Effective 15 Oct 2024

New 1% fee on large fuel & auto transactions

No transaction fee on fuel/auto → 1% on each fuel/auto txn over ₹10,000

From 15 Oct 2024 RBL's revised Schedule of Charges added a 1% fee on every fuel and auto transaction exceeding ₹10,000, capped at ₹3,000 per transaction (alongside new fees on high-value utility spends over ₹50,000/month and third-party education payments). On a fuel co-brand this is the one bank-wide Oct-2024 change that bites: it is separate from — and does not touch — the standard 1% fuel-surcharge waiver on ₹500–4,000 fuel spends, and the accelerated 10-points-per-₹100 earn (capped at 1,000 points ≈ ₹5,000/month) is unaffected. The reward-point value and earn-category devaluations RBL applied the same day hit standard Reward Point cards, not this card's closed-loop IOCL Fuel Points.

◆ Launch Effective Sept 2024

IndianOil RBL launched as successor to the BPCL SuperCard

RBL Bank, IndianOil (IOCL) and Mastercard flagged off their co-branded fuel card in September 2024 (bike-expedition launch event on 02 Sep 2024), replacing RBL's discontinued BPCL SuperCard with an IOCL-aligned proposition. The base card earns 10 Fuel Points per ₹100 at IndianOil outlets (each point worth ₹0.50 toward fuel, ~5% value back, capped 1,000 Fuel Points/month) and 1 point per ₹100 elsewhere, plus a 1% fuel-surcharge waiver (up to ₹100/month) and a 1,000-point welcome benefit. Fee ₹500 joining/annual, waived at ₹1.75 lakh annual spend. Exact calendar date not published; the co-brand was unveiled late Aug / early Sep 2024.
