Kotak White Reserve Credit Card
A correction first — the live Kotak White Reserve is a ₹12,500 metal super-premium card, not the ₹3,000 mid-tier our catalog previously showed. It is Kotak's genuine flagship, built on a milestone-based "White Pass" reward currency (up to ~1:1, an effective ~1.6–2.5%) with unlimited domestic and international lounge access (1,000+ lounges), Club Marriott membership and two complimentary golf rounds a month, at a 2% forex markup. The ₹12,500 fee waives at ₹10 lakh of spend. For a high-net-worth Kotak customer who will clear that ₹10 lakh, the bundle clears the fee; for everyone else, the HDFC Diners Black runs deeper.

Eligibility
KOTAK publishes no eligibility criteria for this card — no minimum income, no age band, no credit-score floor, and no document checklist. That is not an oversight on our part: the card is issued strictly by invitation, there is no public application form, and so there is nothing to qualify for in the usual sense. Any specific salary figure you see quoted for it elsewhere has been inferred by a third party, not stated by the bank.
What actually decides an invitation is the relationship behind it — balances held with the bank, spend on an existing card, and the banking segment you sit in. We set those signals out in how to get an invitation above, labelled for what they are: observed patterns, not published criteria.

The concern The fee only makes sense at ₹10 lakh+ of annual spend, the White Pass currency is milestone-based rather than flat — nothing at all is earned below ₹3 lakh of spend — and rivals like the HDFC Diners Black out-earn it for the same money.
The bottom line
As a ₹12,500 metal super-premium card, the Kotak White Reserve delivers a comprehensive luxury package: unconditional unlimited lounge access, complimentary Club Marriott, two golf rounds per month, and milestone returns ranging from ~1.6% to 2.5% via White Pass. For Kotak high-net-worth clients spending ₹10 lakh or more annually, it comfortably pulls its weight, even if standalone open-market competitors like HDFC Diners Club Black offer greater everyday rewards flexibility.

White Reserve exempted from the bank-wide reward cuts and category fees
No category transaction fees; all spends earned White Pass → Unchanged — the revision did not extend to White Reserve
Kotak's June 2025 revision cut rewards and added 1% category transaction fees across most of its range. The White Reserve was left out of both halves. Kotak's MCC annexure lists the affected variants in two tables — one for transaction fees, one for reward and milestone exclusions — and White Reserve appears in neither, while its Key Fact Statement states the position directly: fees on rent, utility, education, fuel, wallet loading and online skill-based gaming are all "Waived". Corrected 2026-08-04: this event previously claimed the reward exclusions did hit the White Reserve and only the fee exemption applied. That was wrong in the direction that costs a reader money — it described a devaluation that never happened on this card. Its only source was a non-issuer blog, and it contradicted the Kotak annexure it named as its own provenance.
