Jupiter Edge+ CSB Bank RuPay Credit Card

Entry levelFee variesTravel

The Jupiter Edge answers a real question — why should UPI payments earn nothing? — with a workable RuPay card (issued on CSB Bank) that rewards QR-code payments. It is app-native and genuinely useful for the UPI-first spender, with no annual fee and, on Jupiter's current limited-period offer, no joining fee either — though the regular ₹999 joining fee can return, so it is not lifetime-free. Successive 2026 devaluations trimmed both the earn rate (travel cut from 10% to 7%, then from 1 June 2026 to Jupiter Flights only at ~5% — 25 Jewels/₹100, capped 5,000 Jewels/month — with the MMT/Yatra/EMT/ClearTrip aggregators dropped to the base rate) and the rewards currency (Jewel value ~30% lower for statement credit, though vouchers, Jupiter Flights, digital gold and Air India transfers keep the full ₹0.20). Shopping is capped at ₹2,000/month, ₹600/merchant and ₹200/transaction (gift cards from the named brands do count), while everyday UPI is now uncapped at 5 Jewels/₹100. The card you would sign up for now is leaner than early reviews praised — redeem via vouchers, not statement credit.

Key features

What this card is built to do — the highlights that actually matter.

💰

10% on Online Shopping

50 Jewels per ₹100 (10% at ₹0.20) at Jupiter's named brands — gift cards bought there earn it too (a ₹2,000 Amazon voucher pays the full 1,000 Jewels); only standalone gift-card shops (MCC 5947) are excluded. Tiered caps 1,000 Jewels/txn, 3,000/merchant, 10,000 (₹2,000)/cycle

💰

5% on Travel

25 Jewels per ₹100 (~5% at ₹0.20, ~3.5% as cash) on Jupiter Flights only — capped 5,000 Jewels/month; the MMT/Yatra/EMT/ClearTrip aggregators dropped to base rate from 1 Jun 2026

Should you get it?

Best for: Jupiter savings account holder wanting one-app banking, UPI-native millennial wanting credit rewards on UPI payments, First credit card for digitally-native users, Backup card for UPI transactions linked to credit line

Entry tier — great for first-time and lower-spend users.

Strongest value if you spend heavily on Online Shopping ( 10% back).

✓ Pros

  • Works on UPI — pay at any QR code merchant and earn credit card rewards via UPI
  • Instant app-based approval via Jupiter — no branch visit or courier
  • No annual fee, and no joining fee on the current limited-period offer (regular ₹999)
  • Integrated with Jupiter savings account for unified financial management

✕ Cons

  • 10% online caps are tight and tiered — ₹200 a transaction and ₹600 per merchant, so reaching the ₹2,000 monthly ceiling needs four or more brands
  • Jewel redemption value was cut in June 2026
  • Cashing Jewels out to a statement credit pays ₹0.14 each against ₹0.20 in-app — a 30% haircut for wanting cash

How to redeem rewards

🎁 Statement credit and bill payment at ₹0.14 per Jewel

Statement credit Direct cash adjustment — no conversion

₹ 1.00 /pt

The concern The 2026 cuts (travel 10%→7%→~5% and Jupiter Flights only, statement-credit Jewel value down ~30%, tighter shopping caps — ₹600 per merchant is the one that bites), and CSB's small ecosystem mean thin offers and a leaner proposition than early reviews suggested.

The bottom line

The Jupiter Edge+ provides a functional avenue for earning rewards on regular QR-code UPI transactions that traditionally yield nothing. However, multiple 2026 revisions—including narrowing the travel accelerator to ~5% on in-app Jupiter Flights, reducing statement-credit Jewel conversions by ~30%, and applying strict merchant and monthly shopping limits—have tempered its overall earning power. It remains a practical tool for everyday UPI convenience with modest returns, especially when points are redeemed for gift vouchers rather than statement credits.

Everyday UPI / base earning made uncapped

Capped ~₹1,000-worth of Jewels/month → Uncapped — 5 Jewels/₹100 on unlimited UPI & other spend

Alongside the June 2026 cuts, the monthly cap on base earning was removed: the 1% / 5 Jewels-per-₹100 on UPI and all other spends is now uncapped, so heavy UPI users no longer hit a ceiling on the card's core purpose. The official Edge+ page confirms the end state — "5% unlimited Jewels" on all other spends. The exact effective date is inferred to coincide with the 1 June 2026 revision.

Jewel value split — statement credit / bill payment cut ~30%

₹0.20 per Jewel (all redemptions) → ₹0.14 for statement credit / bill payment; ₹0.20 elsewhere

On 1 June 2026 the Jewel redemption value was split. Vouchers, digital gold, Jupiter Store and Jupiter Flights keep the full ₹0.20 per Jewel, but statement credit and bill payment (the cash-like routes) were cut to ₹0.14 — 100 Jewels now worth ₹14 instead of ₹20, a ~30% devaluation. 10,000 Jewels that returned ₹2,000 as statement credit now return ₹1,400. The lesson: redeem via vouchers or Jupiter travel, not statement credit.

Travel accelerator gutted — OTAs to base, Jupiter Flights cut and capped

35 Jewels/₹100 (~7%) incl. MMT/Yatra/EMT/Cleartrip, uncapped → OTAs at base 5 Jewels/₹100; Jupiter Flights 25 Jewels/₹100, cap 5,000/cycle

From 1 June 2026 the third-party travel aggregators (MakeMyTrip, Yatra, EaseMyTrip, Cleartrip) lost their accelerated rate and now earn only the base 5 Jewels/₹100. Accelerated travel earning survives only on in-app Jupiter Flights, and even there the rate was cut from 35 to 25 Jewels/₹100 (~5% at ₹0.20 redemption) and newly capped at 5,000 Jewels per billing cycle. Booking flights outside the Jupiter app now earns the same as everyday spend.

Shopping 10% category re-capped and gift cards / bills / groceries excluded

₹1,500/month, ₹500/merchant; broad category → ₹2,000/month, ₹600/merchant, ₹200/txn; exclusions added

Effective 21 March 2026 Jupiter reworked the 10% shopping tier: a new ₹200 per-transaction cap was introduced and the per-merchant cap raised ₹500→₹600 and monthly ₹1,500→₹2,000, but gift cards, groceries, utility-bill payments, subscriptions and insurance premiums were removed from the shopping category and dropped to the base 1%. Net effect is a devaluation for anyone who used the card for those (previously 10%) spends.

◆ Benefit Effective 2026

Original Edge CSB card discontinued; Edge+ becomes the only card

In January 2026 the original Edge CSB Bank RuPay Credit Card was withdrawn from new applications, leaving the Edge+ variant as the sole live product. Existing Edge holders were transitioned to the Edge+ proposition, so the card CardAdvisor now tracks under this key is effectively the Edge+.

Edge: 2% on one chosen category, 0.4% otherwise, ₹0 joining → Edge+: 10% shopping, 5% travel, 1% UPI/other, ₹999 joining

On 12 June 2025 Jupiter and CSB Bank launched the Edge+ CSB Bank RuPay Credit Card, a higher-reward successor pitched at over ₹50,000/year in value: 10% back at partner shopping brands (Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, Nykaa), 5% on travel portals (MakeMyTrip, Yatra, EaseMyTrip, Cleartrip) and 1% on all other UPI and card spends. Unlike the lifetime-free original, Edge+ carries a ₹999 joining fee (often run at ₹0 as a limited-period offer) with no annual fee.
