IndusInd Bank Tiger Credit Card

PremiumFee variesRewardsFuelTravelDining

The IndusInd Tiger is one of the more interesting lifetime-free travel cards in India, but its rewards work nothing like the flat "6X on everything" it is usually sold as. The Magnificent Rewards programme is an incremental annual-spend ladder — the first ₹1 lakh of spend in a card year earns 1 reward point per ₹100, spends beyond that earn 2X, spends above ₹2.5 lakh earn 4X and spends above ₹5 lakh earn 6X. At IndusInd's own ₹0.40 a point that works out to 0.40% on the first ₹1 lakh, rising to a 2.40% marginal ceiling, and the bank's published illustration of ₹6 lakh of spend produces 20,000 points, or ₹8,000. What makes the card unusual is everything around the earn — 8 domestic and 2 international lounge visits a year, a 1.5% forex markup, a golf round a quarter, an uncapped fuel-surcharge waiver and a half-yearly BookMyShow ticket — all for a fee of exactly zero.

Should you get it?

Best for: Travellers who want domestic and international lounge access on a no-fee card, High spenders who can push annual spend above ₹5 lakh

Mid tier — a solid all-rounder for steady monthly spend.

Strongest value if you spend heavily on Other ( 0.4% back).

Frequent travellers benefit from the included airport lounge access.

✓ Pros

  • Genuinely lifetime free with no spend-based waiver conditions
  • 8 domestic + 2 international lounge visits a year, with no spend gate published for this card
  • Rewards climb with annual spend — 2X above ₹1 lakh, 4X above ₹2.5 lakh and 6X above ₹5 lakh
  • Low 1.5% forex markup, a golf round a quarter and a fuel-surcharge waiver with no capping

✕ Cons

  • The multipliers only bite at high annual spend — the first ₹1 lakh earns 1 reward point per ₹100, which is 0.40% at IndusInd's own point value
  • Points are worth ₹0.40 each as cash credit, cash redemption is capped at 5,000 points a calendar month and since 1 April 2025 a single redemption can use no more than half the point balance
  • From 15 June 2026 a 1% fee plus GST applies to fuel spends above ₹50,000 in a billing cycle and to non-air transport spends above ₹40,000, and rent paid through third-party merchants carries 1% plus GST on every transaction
  • Dynamic currency conversion doubled to 2% plus GST on 15 June 2026, charged on top of the 1.5% forex markup when an overseas merchant bills you in rupees

Issuer risk is real too — IndusInd has been cutting benefits on other cards.

The bottom line

The IndusInd Tiger is an exceptional lifetime-free proposition when evaluated for its ancillary perks: complimentary international and domestic airport lounge access, a low 1.5% forex markup, and quarterly golf privileges with zero ongoing fees. Its rewards system is less impressive, starting at a lean 0.40% on the initial ₹1 lakh and reaching 2.40% only on spending past ₹5 lakh, meaning it should be held primarily as a feature-packed travel companion rather than a frontline reward earner. Few zero-cost cards in the market offer a comparable travel package.

Air India Maharaja Club 1:1 transfers go live

No airline transfer partner → Points → Air India Maharaja Club at 1:1 (up to 25,000 pts/month)

IndusInd made Tiger reward-point transfers to Air India Maharaja Club live on 1 June 2026 at a 1:1 ratio, capped at 25,000 points/month via IndusMoments — restoring an airline transfer route (~1.5x the ₹0.40/point cash value) roughly 19 months after the Vistara route closed.

2025 2 changes — 2 cuts

▼ Benefit Effective 21 Dec 2025

Complimentary air-accident insurance withdrawn

Complimentary air-accident cover provided with the card → No air-accident cover

On 21 December 2025 IndusInd discontinued the complimentary air-accident insurance feature across its credit cards, stating simply that the coverage "stands discontinued". The bank published no replacement and named no exempt card. Note that several IndusInd product pages still described the cover months afterwards — the Avios, Duo, Pioneer Private and Platinum pages all still advertised it in August 2026 — so a reader may encounter the old wording on IndusInd's own site; the dated withdrawal notice is the operative statement. Other insurance benefits are unaffected: lost-card liability, Total Protect fraud cover, travel insurance and purchase protection continue where the card carried them.

▼ Redemption Effective 1 Apr 2025

Redemption fee added; Pay-with-Rewards value cut

No per-redemption fee → ₹149 + GST per redemption; twid capped 12.5% travel / 10% other from 2nd txn

A portfolio-wide IndusInd reward devaluation effective 1 April 2025 introduced a ₹149 + GST fee on cash/other redemptions and cut the 'twid – Pay with Rewards' threshold from the 2nd transaction (15%→12.5% on travel, to 10% on other categories); InterMiles redemption had already been withdrawn on 21 Jan 2025. These eroded the effective value of Tiger points.

2024 2 changes — 2 cuts

▼ Transfer Effective 31 Oct 2024

Club Vistara transfer route discontinued

Points → Club Vistara at 1:1.2 → No airline transfer partner

Reward-point redemption toward Club Vistara airmiles was discontinued effective 31 October 2024 as Club Vistara merged into Air India Flying Returns. This removed the Tiger's flagship 1:1.2 airline transfer route, leaving points redeemable only for cash/vouchers until an Air India partner was later added.

▼ Redemption Effective 1 Sept 2024

Cash redemption capped at 5,000 points/month

Uncapped cash redemption → Max 5,000 RP/calendar month

IndusInd capped reward-point cash redemption at 5,000 points per calendar month across its cards (Tiger included), effective 1 September 2024 — the first hard ceiling on burning Tiger points for statement credit at ₹0.40/point.

◆ Launch Effective 3 Aug 2023

IndusInd Tiger launched (co-brand with Tiger Fintech)

IndusInd Bank and Tiger Fintech (a Bajaj Capital Group company) launched the lifetime-free Tiger Credit Card on Visa Signature. Its Magnificent Rewards Program is an incremental annual-spend slab ladder on a base of 1 reward point per ₹100 — 2x above ₹1,00,000, 4x above ₹2,50,000 and 6x above ₹5,00,000 — worth 0.40% on the first ₹1 lakh and 2.40% at the margin, since a reward point redeems for ₹0.40. It also launched with 8 domestic and 2 international lounge visits a year with no spend condition, a 1.5% forex markup, quarterly golf, and — at launch — reward-point transfers to Club Vistara at a 1:1.2 ratio.
