IndusInd Bank Pinnacle Credit Card

Mid-tierFee variesFuelTravel

The IndusInd Bank Pinnacle (marketed as Pinnacle World) is a premium lifestyle and travel card with a distinctive fee shape: a one-time ₹15,000 joining fee and then no annual fee from the second year. It earns 2.5 reward points per ₹100 on online/e-commerce spends (excluding airlines, travel and utilities), 1.5 RP per ₹100 on online travel and airline spends, and 1 RP per ₹100 at point of sale — points redeem for cash credit at ₹0.75 each (max 7,500 points a calendar month, and no more than half your balance in one request, with a ₹149 + GST redemption fee) or transfer to partner airlines at 2:1. Fuel spends earn no points at all — IndusInd stopped accruing on fuel across its card portfolio on 1 April 2018. The lifestyle package is the real draw: one complimentary golf game and one lesson every calendar month at select clubs, 24x7 concierge and Auto Assist, up to three buy-one-get-one movie tickets a month, and a 1% fuel-surcharge waiver. Read the lounge benefit carefully, though — the complimentary Priority Pass waives exactly one international visit a calendar quarter for the primary cardholder, and charges US$35 a visit within India and for guests.

Super Premium tier — built for high spenders who want top-end perks.

Strongest value if you spend heavily on Online Shopping ( 1.88% back).

Frequent travellers benefit from the included airport lounge access.

✓ Pros

  • One-time ₹15,000 joining fee, then no annual fee from the second year — unusual and can reward long holding
  • One complimentary golf game and one lesson every calendar month, with ₹20,000 of Hole-in-One insurance, plus 24x7 concierge and Auto Assist
  • 2.5 reward points per ₹100 on online/e-commerce spends, redeemable at ₹0.75 each or transferable to airlines
  • Up to three buy-one-get-one movie tickets a month (free ticket capped at ₹200) and a 1% fuel-surcharge waiver on fills of ₹500–₹4,000

✕ Cons

  • Lounge access is not truly complimentary — only one international Priority Pass visit a calendar quarter is waived for the primary cardholder, and every visit within India or by a guest costs US$35
  • Reward value is ordinary (about 1.9% online, 0.75% at POS), cash-credit redemption is capped at 7,500 points a calendar month and at half your balance per request, and each cash redemption costs ₹149 + GST
  • Fuel transactions earn no reward points at all — IndusInd stopped accruing on fuel across the portfolio on 1 April 2018
  • Since 15 June 2026 IndusInd charges 1% + GST on fuel spends above ₹50,000 in a statement cycle, 1% + GST on dynamic currency conversion when an overseas merchant bills you in rupees, and 1% + GST on transport spends other than air travel above ₹40,000 a cycle
  • Rent paid through third-party merchants carries a 1% + GST fee on every transaction (the Pinnacle is not on IndusInd's exempt list) and earns at most 500 points a statement cycle
  • Forex markup is a standard 3.5%, and the ₹15,000 joining fee is a real upfront cost even though there is no annual fee afterward

How to redeem rewards

Ways to convert what you earn into real value.

🎁 Cash credit at ₹0.75 per reward point — capped at 7,500 points a calendar month and at half your points balance per request, with a ₹149 + GST redemption fee

🎁 Airline mile transfer to KrisFlyer or Air India Maharaja Club (2 reward points = 1 mile), which falls under IndusInd's ₹100 + GST non-cash redemption fee

🎁 Indus Moments rewards catalogue (offers, vouchers, merchandise) — also ₹100 + GST per redemption

Full calculator, every currency → The concern The lounge benefit is easy to misread — Priority Pass waives only one international visit a calendar quarter for the primary cardholder, and every visit within India or by a guest carries a US$35 charge. The base reward value is ordinary, and fuel spends earn nothing at all.

The bottom line

The Pinnacle is best evaluated for its lifestyle features rather than pure reward returns. Its single-payment ₹15,000 setup without recurring annual charges can appeal to long-term holders focused on monthly golf privileges, movie discounts, and concierge assistance. On the other hand, reward earning remains modest (peaking at ~1.9% for online retail and 0.75% at physical terminals), while Priority Pass access incurs a US$35 charge on domestic usage and guest admissions. Those prioritizing expansive lounge access and rapid airmile accumulation will find stronger value in dedicated travel products.

▲ Revaluation ▼ Devaluation ◆ Neutral / reversed

2026 2 changes — 2 cuts

▼ Fee Effective 15 Jun 2026

New 1% surcharge on transport spends above ₹40,000/cycle

No transport surcharge → 1% + GST above ₹40,000 per cycle

A new 1% + GST charge applies once cumulative transport spends (MCCs 4111, 4112, 4784 and 4131 — cabs, rail, bus and tolls) exceed ₹40,000 in a statement cycle; air travel is excluded. The Pinnacle escaped the rest of the June 2026 revision: its fuel-fee threshold stayed at ₹50,000 and its DCC fee stayed at 1%, both of which were worsened for standard variants.

▼ Lounge Effective 1 Apr 2026

Domestic lounge access gated behind ₹1.5L quarterly spend

1 complimentary domestic visit per quarter, unconditional → 1 per quarter — only if ₹1,50,000 spent in the previous quarter

From 1 April 2026 IndusInd put domestic lounge access behind a spend gate. The Pinnacle's single complimentary domestic visit per quarter now requires ₹1,50,000 of spend in the preceding quarter; miss it and access is withdrawn for the next one. Spend tracking began with the April–June 2026 quarter and the first gated quarter is July–September 2026 — a steep condition for one visit, on a card whose lounge benefit was already the most misread thing about it.

Verification: IndusInd Bank ↗ · Confidence: High

2025 6 changes — 4 cuts, 2 neutral

▼ Benefit Effective 21 Dec 2025

Complimentary air-accident insurance withdrawn

Complimentary air-accident cover provided with the card → No air-accident cover

On 21 December 2025 IndusInd discontinued the complimentary air-accident insurance feature across its credit cards, stating simply that the coverage "stands discontinued". The bank published no replacement and named no exempt card. Note that several IndusInd product pages still described the cover months afterwards — the Avios, Duo, Pioneer Private and Platinum pages all still advertised it in August 2026 — so a reader may encounter the old wording on IndusInd's own site; the dated withdrawal notice is the operative statement. Other insurance benefits are unaffected: lost-card liability, Total Protect fraud cover, travel insurance and purchase protection continue where the card carried them.

Verification: IndusInd Bank ↗ · Confidence: High

▼ Fee Effective 4 May 2025

New 1% fee on fuel spends above ₹50,000/cycle

No bank fee on fuel spends → 1% + GST on cumulative fuel above ₹50,000 per statement cycle

IndusInd began levying 1% + GST on cumulative fuel transactions once they exceed ₹50,000 in a statement cycle, charged on the whole cycle's fuel spend rather than the excess. The Pinnacle retained this ₹50,000 threshold in the June 2026 revision, when standard variants were dropped to ₹30,000.

Verification: IndusInd Bank ↗ · Confidence: High

▼ Redemption Effective 1 Apr 2025

Redemption fee raised to ₹149; 50%-of-balance cap added

No 50%-of-balance cap; lower cash-redemption fee → ₹149 + GST per cash redemption; 50%-of-balance cap; twid fees per transaction

A portfolio-wide redemption devaluation effective 1 April 2025: the cash-credit redemption fee became ₹149 + GST, per-transaction fees were added to the twid "Pay with Rewards" programme, the twid threshold fell from the 2nd transaction onwards (15% → 12.5% travel, 10% other), cash redemption was limited to 50% of the point balance on top of the existing 7,500-point monthly cap, points on unpaid spends became clawback-able, and points on fractional spends ended.

Verification: IndusInd Bank ↗ · Confidence: High

◆ Benefit Effective 13 Mar 2025

Golf benefit restructured to 1 game + 1 lesson per month

1 complimentary game + 1 complimentary lesson per month

IndusInd restated the Pinnacle's golf benefit as one complimentary game and one complimentary lesson per calendar month. The prior entitlement was never published, so the direction cannot be scored; the golf programme has survived successive rounds of trimming elsewhere on the card.

Verification: IndusInd Bank ↗ · Confidence: Reconstructed

◆ Lounge Effective 13 Mar 2025

International lounge access defined as 1 visit per quarter

1 complimentary Priority Pass visit per calendar quarter, outside India

IndusInd set the Pinnacle's complimentary international lounge entitlement at one Priority Pass visit per calendar quarter outside India; beyond that, and for all visits within India and for guests, the standard US$35 per-person charge applies. The bank published the new entitlement without publishing what it replaced, so this is recorded as a dated restructure rather than a scored gain or loss — though it is what turns the card's "complimentary Priority Pass" line into a four-visits-a-year benefit in practice.

Verification: IndusInd Bank ↗ · Confidence: Reconstructed

▼ Transfer Effective 21 Jan 2025

InterMiles redemption route discontinued

Points → InterMiles → InterMiles route withdrawn

IndusInd discontinued converting reward points to InterMiles across its credit cards, including the Pinnacle — narrowing the 1:1 airline transfer options that are the card's best point value.

Verification: IndusInd Bank ↗ · Confidence: High

2024 3 changes — 3 cuts

▼ Transfer Effective 31 Oct 2024

Club Vistara airmiles redemption discontinued

Points → Club Vistara airmiles via IndusMoments → Club Vistara route withdrawn

IndusInd ended reward-point redemption towards Club Vistara airmiles on IndusMoments across its credit cards, including the Pinnacle, ahead of Vistara's merger into Air India.

Verification: IndusInd Bank ↗ · Confidence: High

▼ Fee Effective Oct 2024

New 1% fees on utility and wallet-load spends

No fee on utility or wallet-load spends → 1% + GST above ₹25,000 (utility) / ₹20,000 (wallet) per cycle

From statements generated in October 2024, cumulative utility payments above ₹25,000 in a statement cycle attract 1% + GST on the entire amount, and wallet loads above ₹20,000 likewise. Utilities were already excluded from the Pinnacle's 2.5X online rate, so this adds a charge to a category that was already earning the base rate.

Verification: IndusInd Bank ↗ · Confidence: High

▼ Redemption Effective 1 Sept 2024

Cash redemption capped at 7,500 points/month

Uncapped cash redemption → Max 7,500 RP per calendar month

IndusInd imposed a product-level ceiling of 7,500 reward points per calendar month on cash-credit redemption — worth ₹5,625 at the Pinnacle's ₹0.75 per point.

Verification: IndusInd Bank ↗ · Confidence: High

2023 1 change — 1 cut

▼ Reward Effective 3 Jan 2023

Rent-payment earning capped at 500 points/cycle

Rent earned at the standard rate, uncapped → Max 500 RP per statement cycle

IndusInd capped reward points on rent paid through third-party merchants at 500 points per statement cycle on the Pinnacle — closing the rent-as-spend loophole that let holders manufacture points on a large recurring bill.

Verification: IndusInd Bank ↗ · Confidence: High

2022 1 change — 1 cut

▼ Redemption Effective 2022

Cash-credit point value cut from ₹1.00 to ₹0.75

1 RP = ₹1.00 → 1 RP = ₹0.75

The Pinnacle's cash-credit conversion was cut by a quarter, taking the card's top online rate from ~2.5% to ~1.9% and its point-of-sale rate to 0.75%. IndusInd publishes the resulting ₹0.75 ratio on the card's cash-credit T&C page but never published the change or its effective date; a reviewer places it around March 2022, and the bank's Celesta page dates the same portfolio-wide move to 15 April 2022. Left year-only rather than borrow a sibling card's date.

Verification: CardAdvisor Research · Confidence: Reconstructed

2020 1 change — 1 improvement

▲ Fee Effective 2020

Joining fee cut from ₹50,000 to ₹15,000

₹50,000 one-time → ₹15,000 one-time

IndusInd repriced the Pinnacle from a ₹50,000 one-time joining fee to ₹15,000 around 2020, trimming the benefit package alongside it. Cheaper to enter, but the reviewer's framing is that the card was cut down as much as it was discounted. The bank never announced the repricing, so the year is inferred from a single reviewer's account ("used to sell for ₹50,000 before 2020") and the exact effective date is unknown.

Verification: CardAdvisor Research · Confidence: Reconstructed

2018 2 changes — 1 cut, 1 improvement

▼ Reward Effective 1 Apr 2018

Fuel spends stop earning reward points

Fuel spends earned 1 RP per ₹100 → Fuel spends earn nothing

IndusInd stopped accruing reward points on fuel transactions across its credit card portfolio, including the Pinnacle. The 1% fuel-surcharge waiver remains, but the spend itself no longer earns.

Verification: IndusInd Bank ↗ · Confidence: High

▲ Lounge Effective 2018

Priority Pass added to the card

No Priority Pass benefit → Complimentary Priority Pass membership

The Pinnacle launched without any Priority Pass entitlement; IndusInd added complimentary Priority Pass membership around the middle of 2018, giving the card its first international lounge route. Dated only to the year — the change was made quietly and never carried an issuer notice, so the month is the reviewer's recollection rather than a published date.
