IndusInd Bank Legend Credit Card
Read the current terms, not the old reviews. The IndusInd Legend was once genuinely compelling — zero forex, unlimited global lounges, below super-premium pricing — but in 2026 it has been dismantled: complimentary lounge access was discontinued in March 2025 (you keep Priority Pass membership but pay per visit), forex is now 1.8% (not 0%), and InterMiles redemption is gone. On price, IndusInd's published Schedule of Charges gives the Legend a one-time joining fee of ₹5,000 and an annual fee of NIL — you pay once at the front and nothing on renewal, ever. It earns 1 reward point per ₹100 on weekdays and 2 per ₹100 on weekends, with a 3,000-point bonus at ₹5 lakh of annual spend, non-expiring points and a BookMyShow BOGO (up to ₹200). What is left is a fine rewards card with a real entry cost, nothing like the travel flagship the marketing implies.
Key features
What this card is built to do — the highlights that actually matter.
0.71% on Other
Calendar-weighted 1.43 RP per ₹100 — 1 RP per ₹100 on weekdays and 2 per ₹100 on weekends. Since 1 January 2022 medical, automobile and telecom spends earn 1 RP per ₹100 on weekdays and weekends alike. Points never expire; fuel earns nothing.
0.35% on Utility Bills
0.70 RP per ₹100 (~0.35%) on utility bill payments — the reduced rate from IndusInd's 1 Aug 2019 revision, not the 1.43 base
Movie Ticket Benefit
BookMyShow buy-one-get-one free (up to ₹200 off the second ticket)
Milestone Bonus
~₹1,500 in bonus rewards on hitting annual spend milestones

BookMyShow buy-one-get-one free (up to ₹200 off the second ticket)
fuel waiver ~ ₹1,000 /yr
1% fuel surcharge waiver on fuel transactions from ₹500 to ₹3,000, capped at ₹100 in a billing cycle — a hard ceiling of ₹1,200 a year
milestone bonus ~ ₹1,500 /yr
3,000 bonus reward points on ₹5,00,000 spend in an anniversary year (primary plus add-on), credited within 45 days. Low-MCC spends do not count — fuel, transport and tolls, utilities, insurance, education, telecom, brokers and government. Modelled as recurring; IndusInd's wording is ambiguous.
Spend milestone
· ₹5,00,000 a year ₹1,500 of value
Should you get it?
Best for: Existing holders and IndusInd customers happy to pay once for a rewards card with no renewal fee, Weekend spender who benefits from the 2 RP/₹100 weekend rate, Long-term holder, since the cost is front-loaded and never repeats, Regular BookMyShow user who values the buy-one-get-one movie benefit
Premium tier — a solid all-rounder for steady monthly spend.
Strongest value if you spend heavily on Other ( 0.71% back).
✓ Pros
- No annual fee at all — the ₹5,000 is a one-time joining charge, with nothing to pay on renewal
- 2 reward points per ₹100 on weekends (1 per ₹100 on weekdays), with points that never expire
- 3,000-point bonus at ₹5 lakh of annual spend
- BookMyShow buy-one-get-one free (up to ₹200 off the second ticket)
✕ Cons
- IndusInd has smaller branch network than HDFC or ICICI — not ideal if you need in-person banking support
- Reward redemption catalogue less extensive than legacy bank portals
- The travel draws are gone — lounge access was discontinued March 2025, forex is now 1.8%, and InterMiles redemption ended
- From 15 June 2026 a 1% fee plus GST applies to fuel spends above ₹30,000 in a billing cycle and to non-air transport spends above ₹40,000, and rent paid through third-party merchants carries 1% plus GST on every transaction
- Dynamic currency conversion doubled to 2% plus GST on 15 June 2026, charged on top of the 1.8% forex markup when an overseas merchant bills you in rupees
- Redeeming points for cash credit costs ₹149 plus GST, and any other redemption costs ₹100
- A one-time ₹5,000 joining fee is a real entry cost for a card whose travel perks have been removed, and IndusInd's hub still badges the Legend "Lifetime Free" while its Schedule of Charges does not

Full calculator, every currency → The concern The headline perks that made it famous (zero forex, unlimited lounges, InterMiles) have all been removed, while the joining fee is real — do not buy it for travel, and ignore older reviews.
The bottom line
Evaluating the Legend in its current form requires looking beyond its past reputation: while an upfront joining fee of ₹5,000 provides lifetime exemption from recurring annual fees, the core travel perks have been pared back—complimentary lounge access ended in March 2025, the forex markup stands at 1.8%, and InterMiles transfers have ceased. It serves well enough as an everyday card offering weekday and weekend reward tiers without recurring holding costs, but the legacy zero-forex travel product is gone. Prospective applicants should verify their specific joining fee terms during application, as the bank markets the card across different entry pricing structures.

New fuel/transport surcharges and higher DCC fee
No fuel/transport surcharge; 1% + GST DCC → 1% + GST fuel >₹30k/cycle; 1% + GST transport >₹40k/cycle; DCC 2% + GST
Effective 15 June 2026 IndusInd added a 1% + GST fuel surcharge on cumulative fuel spends above ₹30,000 per statement cycle (Legend is a standard variant), a 1% + GST transport surcharge above ₹40,000 per cycle (air travel excluded), raised the DCC fee on INR-billed international transactions to 2% + GST for standard cards, and revised the late-payment grid.

2025 4 changes — 4 cuts
▼ Benefit Effective 21 Dec 2025
Complimentary air-accident insurance withdrawn
Complimentary air-accident cover provided with the card → No air-accident cover
On 21 December 2025 IndusInd discontinued the complimentary air-accident insurance feature across its credit cards, stating simply that the coverage "stands discontinued". The bank published no replacement and named no exempt card. Note that several IndusInd product pages still described the cover months afterwards — the Avios, Duo, Pioneer Private and Platinum pages all still advertised it in August 2026 — so a reader may encounter the old wording on IndusInd's own site; the dated withdrawal notice is the operative statement. Other insurance benefits are unaffected: lost-card liability, Total Protect fraud cover, travel insurance and purchase protection continue where the card carried them.

▼ Redemption Observed 25 Mar 2025 · Effective 1 Apr 2025
Redemption fee raised; Pay-with-Rewards value cut
Redemption fee ₹100 + GST; no 50% balance cap → ₹149 + GST per cash redemption; twid 12.5% travel / 10% other from 2nd txn; 50%-of-balance cap
A portfolio-wide reward devaluation effective 1 April 2025 raised the cash-credit redemption fee to ₹149 + GST, added per-transaction twid 'Pay with Rewards' fees, cut the twid threshold from the 2nd transaction (15%→12.5% on travel, 10% on other categories), imposed a 50%-of-balance cash-redemption cap, pulled back points on delinquency, and ended bonus points on fractional spends. The official notice names the Legend explicitly in its capping illustration.

▼ Lounge Effective 7 Mar 2025
Complimentary airport lounge access discontinued
Complimentary domestic lounge + Priority Pass membership → No complimentary lounge (Priority Pass membership retained, pay per visit)
IndusInd withdrew complimentary airport lounge access from the Legend effective 7 March 2025, across both the Visa and Mastercard variants. Cardholders keep Priority Pass membership but pay per visit — gutting the card's flagship travel perk.

▼ Transfer Effective 21 Jan 2025

IndusInd discontinued converting reward points to InterMiles across its credit cards, including the Legend, effective 21 January 2025 — removing a long-standing airmiles redemption route.
