IndusInd Bank Indulge Credit Card

Mid-tierFee variesTravel

The IndusInd Bank Indulge is a by-invitation super-premium card best known for two headline features: a body with a 22-karat gold inlay — a first for an Indian credit card — and no pre-set spending limit, so purchases are authorised dynamically against your profile rather than a fixed cap. The lifestyle bundle is unusually deep for the tier: 4 international lounge visits a calendar quarter through Priority Pass since 13 March 2025, up to 6 domestic visits a quarter (spend-gated from the July 2026 quarter), and from 10 March 2026 four complimentary golf games and four lessons every month on ₹25,000 of previous-statement spend — the joint-largest golf entitlement IndusInd offers. The ₹10,000 annual fee is reversed on ₹10 lakh of spend in the last anniversary year. Earning is the weak side: 1 point per ₹100, nothing at all on fuel, and a reduced 0.7 points per ₹100 on utility, insurance, government and education spends. It is not sold as an instant-approval retail product: income criteria are steep, but are relaxed substantially for existing IndusInd account or card holders, and it can be issued on a card-on-card basis against a strong existing card.

✓ Pros

  • India's first card with a 22-karat gold inlay
  • No pre-set spending limit — dynamic authorisation against your profile
  • 4 international lounge visits a calendar quarter via Priority Pass, plus up to 6 domestic visits a quarter once the spend criteria are met

  • The lowest finance charge in the IndusInd range at 1.79% a month

✕ Cons

  • Unremarkable reward earning (~0.5%), though the 1.8% forex markup is low for the tier
  • Fuel earns no reward points, and utility, insurance, government and education spends earn a reduced 0.7 points per ₹100
  • Domestic lounge access is spend-gated from the July 2026 quarter — ₹5,00,000 in the previous quarter
  • Golf is conditional — each month's four games and four lessons need ₹25,000 of spend in the previous billing statement, and unused entitlement does not carry forward
  • From 15 June 2026 a 1% + GST fuel surcharge applies above ₹50,000 of fuel spend per statement cycle, and 1% + GST on ground-transport spends above ₹40,000 per cycle
  • Accepting dynamic currency conversion abroad (being billed in rupees) costs a further 1% + GST on top of the forex markup
  • High fees for the everyday value delivered
  • By-invitation — easiest for existing IndusInd account or card holders

Eligibility

INDUSIND publishes no eligibility criteria for this card — no minimum income, no age band, no credit-score floor, and no document checklist. That is not an oversight on our part: the card is issued strictly by invitation, there is no public application form, and so there is nothing to qualify for in the usual sense. Any specific salary figure you see quoted for it elsewhere has been inferred by a third party, not stated by the bank.

What actually decides an invitation is the relationship behind it — balances held with the bank, spend on an existing card, and the banking segment you sit in. We set those signals out in how to get an invitation above, labelled for what they are: observed patterns, not published criteria.

Full calculator, every currency → The concern Reward earning is unremarkable — though the 1.8% forex markup is low — so the value rests on the status, the no-preset-limit flexibility and the lifestyle perks — and on securing an invitation, which is far easier for existing IndusInd customers.

The bottom line

The IndusInd Indulge prioritizes prestige, purchasing flexibility, and bespoke lifestyle privileges over raw reward generation, highlighted by its 22K gold-inlaid card design and dynamic no-preset-limit framework. While supported by generous golf, lounge, and concierge access, its core earn rate is unexceptional. It is best suited for existing IndusInd banking clients who can leverage relationship waivers to meet the qualification criteria and utilize the luxury perks.

▲ Revaluation ▼ Devaluation ◆ Neutral / reversed

2026 1 change — 1 cut

▼ Fee Effective 15 Jun 2026

New transport surcharge; late-payment grid revised

No transport surcharge → 1% + GST transport surcharge above ₹40k/cycle

Effective 15 June 2026 IndusInd added a 1% + GST transport surcharge on cumulative transport spends (MCC 4111/4112/4784/4131) above ₹40,000 per statement cycle and revised the late-payment charge grid. As a premium card the Indulge kept its higher ₹50,000 fuel-surcharge threshold and 1% DCC fee, so the harsher fuel (₹30k) and 2% DCC changes that hit standard variants did not worsen it.

2025 3 changes — 3 cuts

▼ Benefit Effective 21 Dec 2025

Complimentary air-accident insurance withdrawn

Complimentary air-accident cover provided with the card → No air-accident cover

On 21 December 2025 IndusInd discontinued the complimentary air-accident insurance feature across its credit cards, stating simply that the coverage "stands discontinued". The bank published no replacement and named no exempt card. Note that several IndusInd product pages still described the cover months afterwards — the Avios, Duo, Pioneer Private and Platinum pages all still advertised it in August 2026 — so a reader may encounter the old wording on IndusInd's own site; the dated withdrawal notice is the operative statement. Other insurance benefits are unaffected: lost-card liability, Total Protect fraud cover, travel insurance and purchase protection continue where the card carried them.

▼ Redemption Observed 25 Mar 2025 · Effective 1 Apr 2025

Redemption fee raised; Pay-with-Rewards value cut

Cash redemption fee ₹100; no balance cap → ₹149 + GST cash redemption; twid per-txn fees; 50%-of-balance cap

A portfolio-wide reward devaluation effective 1 April 2025 raised the cash-credit redemption fee to ₹149 + GST (the Indulge is not among the exempt cards), added per-transaction twid 'Pay with Rewards' fees, cut the twid threshold from the 2nd transaction (15% to 12.5% on travel, 10% on other), imposed a 50%-of-balance cash-redemption cap, pulled back points on delinquency, and ended bonus points on fractional spends.

▼ Transfer Effective 21 Jan 2025

InterMiles redemption route discontinued

Points → InterMiles → InterMiles route withdrawn

IndusInd discontinued converting reward points to InterMiles across its credit cards, including the Indulge, effective 21 January 2025 — removing a long-standing airmiles redemption route. The Indulge was not among the cards later enabled for the replacement KrisFlyer transfer partner, so it lost airmiles conversion entirely.

▼ Redemption Effective 1 Sept 2024

Cash redemption capped at 10,000 points/month

Uncapped cash redemption → Max 10,000 RP/calendar month (Indulge)

From 1 September 2024 IndusInd capped reward-point redemption against cash credit at 10,000 points per calendar month on the Indulge (versus a 5,000-point cap on the Legend and Tiger) — the first hard ceiling on burning Indulge points for statement credit. Catalogue and product redemptions on IndusMoments stayed uncapped.

◆ Launch Effective 24 Jun 2013

Indulge launched — India's first 22-karat gold-inlay card

IndusInd launched the Indulge on 24 June 2013 as the first credit card in the Indian sub-continent with a pure 22-karat gold inlay in the card body, issued on the Visa Infinite platform. It carried a no-preset-spending-limit (dynamic authorisation above the credit limit), airport lounge, golf, concierge and curated lifestyle privileges, and was strictly by-invitation.
