IndiGo XL Kotak Credit Card
IndiGo XL is the premium tier of the Kotak x IndiGo co-brand — a step above the base IndiGo Kotak card. After IndiGo moved its reward currency to BluChips (we value a BluChip at about 42 paise against IndiGo fares), Kotak headlines "up to 21 BluChips per ₹100" on IndiGo app/website bookings. IndiGo publishes the split, and it is the thing to read: 5 come from the card, 12 from booking through IndiGo's own channels and 4 from Blu 1 tier status. Only the 5 is the card — the other 16 accrue to any BluChip member booking direct with any card at all, and Blu 1 is the top of three tiers, so a new member on Blu 3 sees 17. Off IndiGo it is ordinary: 3 BluChips per ₹100 on dining and entertainment, 2 per ₹100 on everything else. The ₹3,000 fee buys 8 domestic lounge visits a year (2 a quarter), a 4,000-BluChip welcome voucher with a 6E Eats voucher, a matching 4,000-BluChip renewal voucher, and milestone vouchers worth up to 16,000 BluChips across ₹1.5L / ₹4L / ₹7.5L / ₹12L of annual spend. The value is concentrated in IndiGo flying; a light IndiGo flyer will not fill the fee.

✓ Pros
- 5 BluChips per ₹100 from the card on direct IndiGo bookings — the premium tier's IndiGo earn rate
- 8 domestic lounge visits a year, plus welcome and renewal BluChip vouchers
- Milestone BluChip vouchers worth up to 16,000 a year for higher spenders
✕ Cons
- Only 5 of the advertised 21 BluChips per ₹100 come from the card — 12 come from booking on IndiGo's own channels and 4 from Blu 1 tier status, both earned with any card
- BluChips redeem only against IndiGo fares, not as cash — value is concentrated in IndiGo flying
- ₹3,000 fee has no simple spend waiver; recovered only via the welcome/renewal vouchers
- Off-IndiGo earning is thin (2–3 BluChips per ₹100), and rent/wallet/education/government/fuel earn nothing

How to redeem rewards
Ways to convert what you earn into real value.
🎁 Redeem BluChips against IndiGo flight bookings on the IndiGo app/website (we value a BluChip at about 42 paise)
🎁 Welcome, renewal and milestone BluChip vouchers credited to the IndiGo BluChip account
What your IndiGo BluChip are worth
Realistic value per point by redemption route — the difference is what most people leave on the table.
IndiGo fares on the 6E app ₹0.42 per BluChip against IndiGo base fare; airline-only, and BluChips expire with account inactivity
The concern BluChips are airline scrip usable only on IndiGo and devaluable at IndiGo's discretion, only 5 of the advertised 21 per ₹100 come from the card itself, off-IndiGo earning is thin, and the ₹3,000 fee is recovered only through the vouchers and IndiGo flying — light flyers will not justify it.
The bottom line
For regular IndiGo flyers, the IndiGo XL easily offsets its ₹3,000 annual fee through the 4,000-BluChip annual renewal voucher, 8 domestic airport lounge entries, and an earn rate of 3 to 5 BluChips per ₹100 on flights, dining, and entertainment. However, the headline "21 BluChips per ₹100" relies heavily on 16 BluChips that standard loyalty members earn regardless of card choice, and general retail rewards remain modest. As a result, the card delivers genuine value only to committed IndiGo passengers.

Legacy 6E Rewards retired; IndiGo Kotak co-brand fully on BluChips
6E Rewards (legacy IndiGo co-brand points) → IndiGo BluChips (1 BluChip approx Rs 1 against IndiGo fares)
IndiGo wound down its legacy 6E Rewards currency: Kotak stopped issuing the old 6E Rewards / 6E Rewards XL cards from 25 September 2025, and by early October 2025 every 6E Rewards balance was auto-converted to IndiGo BluChips and existing holders were migrated onto the new BluChip cards — the base IndiGo Kotak and this premium IndiGo XL. This card was born on BluChips (it never earned 6E Rewards), so nothing about its own earning changed; the event made BluChips the sole live IndiGo Kotak currency and folded the legacy 6E base into this product line.

IndiGo XL Kotak launched — new premium BluChip co-brand
Kotak Mahindra Bank and IndiGo relaunched their co-brand on 10 July 2025 with two brand-new BluChip-earning cards — the base IndiGo Kotak and this premium IndiGo XL (Rs 3,000 joining and annual fee). This XL is a fresh SKU, not a rename of the old Rs 1,500 6E Rewards XL: it earns up to 21 IndiGo BluChips per Rs 100 on direct IndiGo bookings (3 on dining and entertainment, 2 elsewhere), gives 8 domestic lounge visits a year (2 per quarter), a 4,000-BluChip welcome voucher plus a 6E Eats voucher, a matching renewal voucher, and up to 16,000 milestone BluChips across Rs 1.5L / Rs 4L / Rs 7.5L / Rs 12L of annual spend. Applicants must be enrolled in IndiGo's BluChip programme.
