IDFC FIRST Mayura Credit Card

Mid-tierFee variesRewardsTravel

The IDFC FIRST Mayura is the bank's flagship metal card and its most premium publicly available product — a Visa Infinite that leads on a genuine 0% forex markup, a heavy lounge programme (16 domestic + 16 international visits a year) and up to 2 golf rounds a month. It earns 5 reward points per ₹150 up to ₹20,000 of monthly spend (~0.83%), 10 per ₹150 on incremental spend above that and on birthdays (~1.67%), 3 per ₹150 on rent/education/government/wallet loads and 1 per ₹150 on insurance/utility/railway/FASTag, with points redeemed at ₹0.25 for vouchers/statement credit and ₹0.50 on flight & hotel bookings through the IDFC FIRST app (where the marketing "40X / up to 13% back" figure lives). A 12,000-point joining benefit (three 4,000-point tranches) and an annual-fee-payment milestone of 7,500 points at ₹8 lakh — rising to 15,000 at ₹15 lakh — soften the fee. Mayura ships on either Visa Infinite or Mastercard World, and the network decides part of the perk sheet: the Mastercard variant carries its own golf programme and hotel-club tie-ups, while ITC stay offers, meet-and-greet and concierge ride on Visa. International earn was cut from 10X to 5X on 18 January 2026; points never expire. At ₹5,999 the card only pays for itself if you actually use the lounges, golf and 0% forex — a frequent traveller's card, not a rewards workhorse.

The concern The ₹5,999 fee has no spend waiver, so light travellers cannot recover it on base rewards alone — and the 2026 cut halved the international earn that used to justify carrying it abroad.

The bottom line

Mayura genuinely belongs in the premium tier: an authentic 0% forex markup, a substantial lounge-and-golf package, points that never expire, and above-average redemption value on in-app travel bookings. But it repays that ₹5,999 fee only if you're travelling often enough to actually work through those perks — treated as a plain everyday-spend rewards card, the fee is a tough sell. The January 2026 halving of international earn (10X down to 5X) also takes a bit of shine off its case for travel spending specifically.

▼ Reward Effective 18 Jun 2026

Earning capped at the credit limit per billing cycle

All eligible spend earned points → Only spend up to the assigned credit limit per cycle earns

From 18 June 2026 reward points accrue only on spends up to your assigned credit limit within a billing cycle; anything beyond that earns nothing. It bites only the pattern of spending past the limit and repaying mid-cycle to free it up again, so most holders will never touch it — but it puts a hard ceiling on what the card can earn in a month.

▼ Benefit Effective 18 Jun 2026

Movie buy-one-get-one spend-gated

Unconditional, twice a month → Needs ₹20,000 spend in the previous calendar month

From 18 June 2026 the buy-one-get-one movie-ticket offer only unlocks if you spent ₹20,000 or more on the card in the previous calendar month — IDFC's own example: to claim it in August 2026 you must have spent ₹20,000 in July 2026. The offer still runs every month, but a benefit that had been unconditional since launch now has a spend condition attached.

▼ Reward Effective 18 Jan 2026

International earn halved to 5X

10X (10 RP per ₹150) → 5X (5 RP per ₹150)

From 18 January 2026 international spends earned 5 reward points per ₹150 instead of 10 — halving the overseas earn on a card sold on its zero forex mark-up. The 0% forex itself survived, so the Mayura still costs nothing to swipe abroad; it simply pays half as much for doing so. Announced in the same December 2025 batch: reward points are withheld for any billing cycle in which the minimum amount due is not paid by the due date.

◆ Welcome Effective 1 Sept 2025

Welcome benefit restructured into a three-tranche 12,000-point plan

12,000 reward points in three tranches: 4,000 on fee realization, 4,000 on ₹20,000+ net spends in the 2nd statement cycle, 4,000 in the 3rd

For cards generated on or after 1 September 2025 the joining benefit pays 12,000 reward points in three equal tranches — on realization of the joining fee, and on ₹20,000 or more of net spends in each of the second and third statement cycles. IDFC does not publish the structure that applied immediately before this date, so no before value is recorded.

◆ Benefit Effective 1 Jul 2025

Movie benefit moves from BookMyShow to District by Zomato

BookMyShow → District by Zomato

From 1 July 2025 the buy-one-get-one movie-ticket benefit had to be claimed through the District by Zomato app instead of BookMyShow. The economics were untouched — up to ₹500 off the second ticket, twice a calendar month — so this was a lateral change, but holders had to switch apps to keep using a perk they had been booking on BookMyShow since launch.

IDFC FIRST launches the Mayura metal card

IDFC FIRST Bank unveiled the Mayura — the peacock-inspired second card in its Ashva-Mayura metal series — at ₹5,999 joining/annual fee with no spend-based waiver: a genuine zero forex mark-up, 5 reward points per ₹150 up to ₹20,000 of monthly spend and 10 per ₹150 on incremental spend above that and on birthdays, 4 domestic lounge/spa visits (including 1 guest) plus 4 international lounge visits per quarter, a BookMyShow buy-one-get-one movie offer with up to ₹500 off the second ticket twice a month, round-the-year golf privileges and a ₹50,000 trip-cancellation cover.
