BOBCARD Etihad Guest Credit Card

Entry levelFee variesTravel

The BOBCARD Etihad Guest is the junior of BOBCARD's two Etihad co-brands, and it is built for one airline rather than for everyday earning. It pays 3 Etihad Guest Miles per ₹100 on Etihad Airways and 1 Mile per ₹100 on every other domestic and cross-border spend. At a realistic ~50 paise a mile that base rate is roughly 0.5% — genuinely thin for a ₹2,500 card, and the number to weigh before anything else. The miles are not a flexible currency: they sweep automatically into your Etihad Guest account within 3 days of each statement and can only be redeemed through Etihad Guest, so there is no statement credit, no voucher catalogue and no transfer out. A bonus ladder sits on top — 250 Miles a month on four transactions totalling ₹25,000, 2,000 Miles a quarter on ₹2 lakh, 12,000 Miles a year on ₹7.5 lakh, and 500 Miles for flying Etihad twice in a year. Etihad Guest Silver tier is available but is not automatic: it needs a transaction on Etihad.com within six months of card issuance. Lounge access runs to 8 domestic (2 per quarter) and 4 international (1 per quarter) visits a year. The ₹2,500 fee waives at ₹3 lakh of annual spend, forex is 1%, and the finance charge is 3.75%/month.

Should you get it?

Best for: Regular Etihad flyer out of India, Wants miles in the airline programme without transfer admin, Abu Dhabi / Gulf / Europe routes on Etihad metal, Moderate cross-border spender wanting a sub-2% forex markup

Premium tier — a solid all-rounder for steady monthly spend.

Strongest value if you spend heavily on Travel ( 1.5% back).

Frequent travellers benefit from the included airport lounge access.

✓ Pros

  • 3 Miles per ₹100 on Etihad Airways, credited straight into your Etihad Guest account with no transfer admin
  • 1% forex markup — low for a ₹2,500 card, useful on cross-border spend
  • 7,500 welcome Miles (~₹3,750) broadly cover the first-year fee
  • 8 domestic and 4 international lounge visits a year
  • A monthly, quarterly and annual bonus ladder rewards steady spenders, topping out at 12,000 Miles on ₹7.5 lakh

✕ Cons

  • 1 Mile per ₹100 (~0.5%) on everyday spend is thin for a ₹2,500 card — this only works if you fly Etihad
  • Miles are locked to Etihad Guest — no statement credit, no vouchers, no transfer out, and they expire on Etihad's tier-based schedule
  • Etihad Guest Silver tier is not automatic — it requires a transaction on Etihad.com within 6 months
  • A long exclusion list — rent, insurance, telecom, education, government, wallet loads and waiver-eligible fuel earn nothing at all
  • The ₹5,000 Etihad Guest Premium doubles every earn rate and drops forex to 0% for ₹2,500 more

🎁 Etihad Guest — cabin upgrades: Use Miles to upgrade an existing Etihad booking, usually the strongest value per Mile. (Variable)

🎁 Etihad Guest — extra baggage and partner services: Redeem against baggage allowance and Etihad partner travel services. (Variable)

What your BOB Reward Points are worth

Statement credit BEST Standard redemption

Gift voucher catalogue BEST Brand & e-gift vouchers

₹ 0.25 /pt

The concern The miles are locked to Etihad Guest — swept out automatically each statement, redeemable only through Etihad, and subject to Etihad's tier-based expiry — so if your travel plans change, the balance is stranded with no cash or voucher fallback.

The bottom line

Think of this as a loyalty product rather than a rewards card, and it makes far more sense. At roughly 0.5%, the 1-Mile-per-₹100 base rate falls short of what a ₹2,500 card would typically return, which makes routine, non-Etihad spend a weak use of the card. What justifies the fee is direct access to Etihad Guest along with the 1% forex markup — and that trade-off only works out if Etihad is actually the airline you fly. The welcome bonus roughly covers year one; every year after depends on how much Etihad flying you actually do.

BOBCARD × Etihad Guest co-brand launched

BOBCARD Ltd and Etihad Guest launched two co-branded cards in India in January 2026 — unveiled at a Mumbai event around 30 January — with BOBCARD becoming the sole issuer of Etihad Guest co-brand cards in India after the previous SBI Card partnership wound down (SBI Etihad benefits ceased in late 2025 and those cards closed on 31 March 2026). The junior card carries a ₹2,500 + GST fee, earns 3 Etihad Guest Miles per ₹100 on Etihad Airways and 1 Mile per ₹100 on all other spends, a 1% forex markup, 8 domestic and 4 international lounge visits a year, and complimentary Etihad Guest Silver tier (conditional on an Etihad.com transaction within 6 months of issuance). Launch promotion doubled the welcome miles for members who joined before 28 February 2026.
