BOBCARD Easy Credit Card
BOBCARD Easy is Bank of Baroda's entry-level rewards card for first-time and lower-spend users, available on RuPay (as well as Visa/Mastercard) so it can be linked to UPI apps. It earns 5 reward points per ₹100 (~1% at ₹0.20/point) on movies and departmental stores, and 1 RP per ₹100 (~0.2%) on everything else, with a ₹500 fee that waives at just ₹35,000 of annual spend (joining fee waived on ₹6,000 in 60 days). BOBCARD is currently running a limited-period lifetime-free offer on the Easy for new applicants. It carries a 1% fuel surcharge waiver (₹400–₹5,000, max ₹250/cycle) and a minimum credit limit of ₹25,000. The earn is modest at ₹0.20/point, but as a free-to-keep first card with UPI it does its job.

The concern At ₹0.20/point the bonus categories return only ~1% and everything else ~0.2% — fine as a beginner card, but flat-cashback cards out-earn it for anyone with real spend.
The bottom line
As an entry-level RuPay card, this one makes sense — 5 reward points per ₹100 (about 1%) on movies and departmental stores, UPI compatibility, and a ₹35,000 waiver threshold low enough to make it effectively free for anyone spending modestly. Because each point is worth only ₹0.20, the real return hovers around 1% at best, so it's better suited as a starter card than a primary spending tool.

Effective 1 July 2025 BOBCARD revised the monthly finance charge on carried balances and cash advances to 3.75% (45% a year) for all card variants except Eterna, Eterna FD and Tiara. ▲ Reward Effective 1 Jul 2025
Utility bill payments earn reward points again
No reward points on utility bills → Core reward points restored on utility bills
From 1 July 2025 BOBCARD restored core reward points on utility bill payments (MCC 4900 — electricity, gas, water) across all variants, partly reversing the July 2024 special-category cull that had zeroed them out. Earning is at the card's core base rate, not an accelerated rate.

▼ Fee Effective 1 Jan 2025
Processing fees added on wallet-load & utility spends
No processing fee → 1% on wallet loads; 1% (max ₹3,000) on utility payments ≥ ₹50,000
A BOBCARD Schedule-of-Charges revision introduced a 1% processing fee on wallet-load transactions and a 1% fee (capped at ₹3,000) on utility payments of ₹50,000 or more, and reinforced that wallet-load MCCs earn no reward points. Everyday grocery, movie and departmental-store spending is unaffected.

▲ Welcome Effective 15 Jul 2024
500 reward-point welcome benefit introduced
No welcome bonus → 500 reward points on early spends
The same July 2024 revision that trimmed special-category earning also added a 500 reward-point welcome benefit to Easy (and Select/Premier), payable on qualifying spends within the first 60 days — about ₹100 at the card's ₹0.20/point value. A small revaluation bundled with the reward cull.

▼ Reward Effective 15 Jul 2024
Reward points removed on special-category MCCs
Base RP earned on utilities, rent, insurance, government, education, wallet loads → No reward points on those special-category (Annexure-A) MCCs
BOBCARD's July 2024 tariff-and-product-features revision stopped awarding reward points on a list of special merchant categories (Annexure A) — utilities, rent, insurance, government, education and wallet loads — across its reward-point cards including Easy. The headline 5X categories (movies, groceries, departmental stores) and the 1 RP/₹100 base on ordinary spends were unchanged.

◆ Launch Effective 29 Nov 2021
Launched on RuPay network (UPI-linkable)
Issued on Visa/Mastercard only → RuPay variant added — linkable to UPI apps
BOB Financial, with NPCI and JCB, launched the Easy Credit Card on the RuPay platform, making this entry-level rewards card linkable to UPI apps for QR-code payments — its defining feature today. A Visa/Mastercard variant of Easy was already being issued before this date; the exact original launch date is not firmly documented. At RuPay launch it earned 5 RP/₹100 on movies, groceries and departmental stores, 1 RP/₹100 elsewhere, and was offered lifetime-free for a limited period.
