AU Zenith Credit Card

Mid-tierFee variesRewardsTravelDining

AU Zenith sits at the top of AU Small Finance Bank's card lineup, though the 1 January 2026 revision took a fair bit of shine off it. The ₹7,999 + GST annual fee still waives once you spend ₹5 lakh in a year, but the earn rate underneath it was trimmed hard — 3 reward points per ₹100 (about 0.75%) on general spending and 5 points per ₹100 (roughly 1.25% at ₹0.25 a point) on dining, international transactions and groceries, well below the 20X/10X rates the card used to offer. The quarterly voucher and Taj Epicure membership perk are both gone too. What survives: a competitive 1.99% forex markup, spend-gated lounge access (8 domestic visits plus 8 international via Priority Pass each year), and a 2,500-point birthday bonus. AU appears to be nudging new applicants toward the Zenith+ instead.

Best for: Frequent travellers, Higher spenders

Premium tier — works reasonably well as a steady all-round performer for consistent monthly spend.

Delivers the most value if a large share of your spend is on Dining ( 1.25% back).

Regular travellers get extra mileage out of the included airport lounge access.

✓ Pros

  • For a heavy spender, the reward earn can genuinely offset the annual fee
  • Solid set of premium lifestyle perks — lounge access, concierge, milestone bonuses
  • A lower forex markup that's kinder to international spending

✕ Cons

  • The annual fee stays in place unless you clear the spend-based waiver
  • A higher income bar for eligibility than most mid-tier cards

The concern AU's merchant tie-ups, transfer partnerships, and overall service network still lag well behind what HDFC and ICICI offer — the headline earn rate holds up fine, but the ecosystem surrounding it is comparatively thin.

The bottom line

Zenith functions as AU's flagship statement card and can stand in reasonably well for an ICICI Sapphiro if you're already banking with AU. The 1.99% forex markup remains one of its stronger points, even though post-cut earning tops out around 0.75–1.25%. If you don't already have an AU relationship, though, you'll generally find deeper redemption ecosystems at the larger banks for a similar fee.
