AU Traverse Credit Card

PremiumFee variesCashbackRewardsFuelTravel

AU Traverse is a premium travel card, but with one important restriction — it's issued only to Non-Resident Indians. Everything about it is oriented toward cross-border spending: a 0.99% forex markup on international transactions, two complimentary domestic and international airport lounge visits every quarter, Meet & Assist and spa access at airports (four uses each per year), a ₹5,000 MakeMyTrip voucher as a welcome perk, reward points on both international and domestic spends, a flat ₹500 cashback on duty-free purchases of ₹10,000 or more, and a 1% fuel surcharge waiver capped at ₹250. The ₹4,999 annual fee is waived if you spend ₹6 lakh in your card anniversary year. Because eligibility is limited to NRIs, resident Indians simply cannot apply for it.

Should you get it?

Best for: Non-Resident Indians who spend across borders, Globally mobile travellers wanting low forex and lounges

Premium tier — well suited to consistent monthly spenders.

You'll see the most value if international spending makes up a large share of your budget (1% back).

Frequent flyers get real added value from the included airport lounge access.

✓ Pros

  • 0.99% forex markup keeps cross-border spending cheap
  • Lounge access covers both domestic and international airports, 2 visits each per quarter
  • ₹5,000 MakeMyTrip voucher as a welcome perk
  • Four airport Meet & Assist uses and four spa visits annually
  • No fee on cash withdrawals, though interest still accrues from the withdrawal date

✕ Cons

  • Only Non-Resident Indians can apply — resident applicants are excluded
  • ₹4,999 fee applies unless you cross ₹6 lakh in annual spend
  • The base reward rate is unremarkable; most of the value sits in forex savings and lounge access
  • Priority Pass visits used within India carry a charge (roughly $35 plus taxes per visit), as do any visits beyond your free quota

The concern Only NRIs can hold this card — resident applicants are shut out entirely — and the ₹4,999 fee is a real cost unless your annual spend clears ₹6 lakh.

The bottom line

A travel card built with one specific customer in mind. For a globally mobile NRI, the 0.99% forex markup and international lounge access do most of the heavy lifting, and the MakeMyTrip welcome voucher chips away at the fee. Its NRI-only eligibility keeps it outside the mainstream resident card lineup entirely — a great fit if you qualify, and simply not an option if you don't.
